Pre-Op Area

In the pre-op area, the patient is prepared for his/her procedure.  A clinician will again verify the patient's identification, the type and site of procedure, allergies and administer any pre-op medications if necessary.  Anesthesia personnel will speak with the patient regarding the type, if any, of anesthia he/she will be receiving.  The surgeon will also visit with the patient and discuss the type of procedure, site and any ill effects that could occur after the surgery.  If the patient is unclear about anything or has any questions, they should be asked at this time.
