Nurses are on hand to meet the patient coming from the operating room.  These experienced staff members assess the patient and provide very important post-surgical care.  The patient is frequently groggy in this stage and will sleep.  After 20 to 30 thirty minutes, the patient will be awake enough to be moved into the step down unit or into one of our 23 hour stay rooms.
